TIN instead of TRN Number on Invoice

Is it ok to quote TIN number in place of TRN number to raise an invoice and the change it later on?

TIN is merely a reference number to the Tax group registration application and does not have any other validity. please note that you are not eligible to charge VAT until your TRN is approved
