Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority launches Its New Application

Under a new initiative to develop the electronic services offered by the government’s financial arm, The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has launched a new smartphone app called “ZATCA” which will enable taxpayers to perform their services quickly and virtually. The new app would help assist the authority website in facilitating internet-based customer service.

Under the great digital transformation being witnessed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia under the vision 2030, the vice governor of IT and digitization at ZATCA stated that modernization of ZATCA mainly relies on three core factors – Ease, Speed, and Efficiency.

The application aims to be an umbrella bringing all the services being offered by the authority together while conforming to the highest technical and user safety standards. ZATCA would bring provide integrated services in an interactive environment that mainly seeks to cater to the aspirations of the Saudis in an era of speed and digitization.

The application will allow taxpayers to enquire about the payment process and view the taxpayer account statement in addition to customer services like customs tariff and custom declaration service. It also offers a safe electronic payment system where customers can execute their online payments safely. This will help reduce customer visits to authority branches thus increasing the efficiency of the system and the satisfaction of the customer.

With the release of application on Google Play and Apple App Store, the authority will come up with guidelines for electronic services provided by authority using which it aims to guide the owners of the businesses to be more familiar with the application and the online mechanisms which would help them make payments online.
