Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority Announces Criteria for Selecting Taxpayers in Wave 4 for E-invoicing Implementation's Integration Phase

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) has announced that VAT-registered taxpayers whose revenues exceeded 150 million Saudi Riyals during 2021 or 2022 must integrate their e-invoicing solutions with the FATOORA Platform from November 1, 2023, as part of the fourth wave of implementing the "Integration Phase" of E-invoicing.

ZATCA stated that the Integration Phase will occur gradually in waves, and it has additional requirements such as issuing e-invoices in a specific format and including additional fields in the invoice. The launch of the Integration Phase is part of the digital transformation taking place in the Kingdom, and it follows the successful implementation of Phase One of e-invoicing. The Generation Phase of e-invoicing was introduced on December 4, 2021, which required taxpayers to stop generating handwritten or computer-generated invoices through text editing software and to ensure they have a technical solution for e-invoicing that is compatible with the requirements.
