A new policy has been introduced to simply transactions with Dubai customs by linking clients and customs electronically. It enables them to practice business and duties relative to different transactions. The new policy also intends to regulate clients’ registration procedure for obtaining customs code.
A custom client would be obligated to review their customs code periodically and update its information if it differs from what was filled during registration.In case, the license is revoked during the validity period, client shall apply for the cancellation of the same. It is required to keep all the relevant documents relating to trade, and submit them whenever required.
To obtain custom code, one shall apply for it on online channels by submitting valid license issued by trusted authority along with the all the information that is asked at the portal. After payment of prescribed fees, custom code issued to the client. However, if concerned department is not satisfied with the information given then it may also decline such applications. The department would issue custom code based on license issued. If GCC Custom Laws are not complied by any person then the concerned department may also suspend customs code.
Any individual or corporates shall not be allowed to indulge in Customs Brokerage Profession unless contrary is specified. If any rule is violated against present policy, this would be subject to prescribed penalties. The concerned department would be responsible to settle disputes thereon.
