Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Tax and Zakat (GAZT) has published a guide on Digital Tax Stamps for Excise Tax. Currently, the guide is published in Arabic.
A Tax Stamp is a unique marking in a form of a marking/code containing digital data affixed to the specified excise goods and electronically activated.
Tax stamps are applied for, affixed and monitored by a control and monitor system. The system requires producers and importers of the specified excise goods to comply with the standards set for the stamps and with the system in general in order to be allowed to import and sell the designated excise goods in the Kingdom. In addition, the system requires the manufacturing companies to affix stamps and highly secured codes on all packages or packets of the designated excise goods to be sold in the kingdom’s markets.
