The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has issued an updated version of Financial Services VAT Guide VATGFS1 (July 2019)
The Financial Services Guide has been updated in line with its Public Clarification VATP014 - VAT Treatment of Options and Option Premiums, which states that “Supplies of options in respect of debt securities and equity securities in return for premiums are exempt from VAT”.
