FTA announces minimum Excise Price for Tobacco Products

In accordance with the Cabinet Decision No. 55 (2019) on Excise Price for Tobacco Products and the Decision of the Minister of Finance No. 237 (2019) on the Implementation of the Cabinet Decision No. 55(2019) , UAE's Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has announced that as of 1st December 2019, tobacco products will have a minimum Excise Price. To reflect this, FTA will automatically amend the Excise Price for such products on its published Excise Price from that date. 

The minimum Excise price announced by FTA is as follows:

• 0.4 AED per cigarette
• 0.1 AED per 1 gram of waterpipe tobacco, or ready to use tobacco or other similar products.
