Qatar's General Tax Authority (GTA) has announced the first phase of the new online tax payment system, called Dhareeba. All companies are required to register on the new portal starting from 1st July 2020 and complete the registration process in the period of ninety (90) days. Taxpayers who register on the portal before 30 September 2020 will be exempted from the existing penalties related to previous registration and issuance of tax card.
Dhareeba is developed on the international business management platform SAP, the most advanced technology that accelerates data processing into value for money, and serves as an important link between GTA and its partners such as government bodies and taxpayers. This tax portal aims to provide tax services efficiently and easily. The portal helps users manage, calculate and review the different types of taxes and receive updates about tax transactions. It automatically calculates and process the various types of tax to assist taxpayers in managing their tax transactions, in accordance with the Qatari tax laws.
The Dhareeba launch is aligned with the 2020 strategy by Qatar’s Digital Government to facilitate all fiscal processes while fulfilling the future requirements of Qatar to link all fiscal bodies in line with latest global standards, systems, and expertise.
