Vat on cancellation of hotel charges
If we cancel a hotel room booking, is vat applicable on cancellation charges? Will it come under compensatory payment?

No, as per Public Clarification - 'VAT treatment of compensation-type payments', such charges are towards right of cessation and should be subject to VAT.
