FTA publishes Cabinet Decision on Excise Price of tobacco products

The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) has published Cabinet Decision No. 55 (2019) on the Excise Price for Tobacco Products. As per the decision, the Excise Price for Tobacco Products which will be determined pursuant to Article 13 of the Cabinet Decision No. 52(2019) shall be:

• No less than AED 0.4O per cigarette;
• No less than AED 0.10 per 1 gram of water pipe tobacco, or ready to use tobacco or other similar products.

These changes will come into effect before 1 January 2020, on a date that will be issued by the Minister of Finance in due course.
