Qatar's GAC exempts customs duties for 905 commodities

The General Authority of Customs (GAC) in Qatar has exempted  medical and food items from customs duties  for a period of six months, as part of a package of precautionary economic measures implemented by the State to combat the spread of the Covid-19. The customs duties imposed on 905 commodities included in the “Nadeeb” system for electronic customs clearance have been canceled.   

The main foods to which the exemption applies include meat, fish, dairy, cheese, legumes, oils, pastries, juices, etc., while medical supplies include face masks, sterilizers, soap products detergents, sterilization wipes, personal and household hygiene items for use.
