Excise Return deadlines extended by One month

In view of the current COVID-19 situation that has affected normal life and business operations, the Federal Tax Authority has taken a much appreciated step to reduce the burden of the Tax payers. As per the notification released, the Authority has extended the deadlines for submission of Excise Tax Returns for the Tax period which commenced on March 01, 2020 by one month. 

The revised obligations of the Tax payers shall be as follows:

1. File two separate Tax returns, one for March 2020 and one for April 2020, no later than Sundary, May 17, 2020

2. Ensure that the FTA has received the Tax payable for the Tax period as reported in the March 2020 and April 2020 Tax returns no later than Sundary, May 17, 2020.

The above step will sure be a welcome relief to the Tax payers in these unprecendented times.
